Peter Voris was born June 30, 1968, in Denville, New Jersey to parents Angelo Voris and Judith (Arana) Voris. The family relocated to Colorado when Pete was one year old. Pete spent his early years in Westminster and graduated from Westminster High School. He earned an associate’s degree, then went on to attend and graduate from Metropolitan University in Denver where he received his Bachelor of Science. He would initially become a chemist, which is what he did for four years, then switched to computer programming before becoming a police officer and finally an investigator.

He met his wife and the love of his life Corryn, in 1990, when she was 19 and he was 21 and that was the beginning of their story; they would marry on October 2, 1993. Pete was a faithful, devoted and loving husband to his wife and best friend. Pete would go on to join the Navy reserves and spend eight years serving our country and earning the level of Staff Sgt E-7 from 1996-2004. After 9/11 Pete was led to find a more secure profession so he went to the police academy and after 18 years of service ended his career as a sergeant in Lafayette, Colorado. He did his job with dignity, respect and deep purpose. He would not compromise his character or his Christian standards and this was respected by all those who knew Peter. In 2019 he started working at the Denver District Attorney’s Office as an investigator. Pete is a hero and will always be regarded as one both in his professional life and his family life.

Pete was an amazing Christian man who worked hard to find and serve his purpose in Christ.  He truly wanted to live in a way that would please God and make a difference to the people in his life.

Pete loved being a father and husband! It was so important to him to love and support his family.  He always made sure his family all heard how he felt: that he was proud of each of them and loved them so much!

At work, Pete strived to contribute to the success of his team (who he loved working with).  He was eager to learn about all the aspects of the job and make a difference in his part of the process.

In addition to that, Pete enjoyed cycling, long road trips, going to church, building up bikes, spending time with his sons, his small group time, playing video games, researching everything (from cars to guns, to bikes - he wanted to be well informed!), shooting, reading the Bible, playing chess, playing soccer (until he tore his ACL), hiking, camping, taking the canoe out on a lake, just to name a few.

To describe Pete in a few words: purposeful (he was passionate about serving a purpose, whether it was at church, home, or work), compassionate, loving, kind, thoughtful, funny.

Pete is survived by his wife Corryn Voris, his three sons Kyle, Ben (Zoe) and Jacob and his siblings Paul Voris and Angela Steveson.
