Clifton D. Jones
July 9th, 1941 - February 5th, 2025
Clifton D. Jones,83, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025. A native of Montezuma, GA, he proudly served our country as a United States Marine for 22 years. Following his retirement from the military, he earned his bachelor’s degree at Baptist College of Charleston(now known as Charleston Southern University). He then became a beloved history teacher as well as a football and basketball coach.
Clif, as he known to his friends, is survived by his four daughters; Suzi Smith and husband Steve of Las Vegas, NV; Carol Mello and granddaughter, Samantha of Austin, TX; Frances Davis, husband Tom Davis, two grandsons Chris and Tim Davis as well as two great grandsons Branson and Ben; and Brenda Jones, husband James Hampton, and grandson Ethyn Tiller. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy and granddaughter Kayla Jones.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Wassamassaw Baptist Church in Moncks Corner, SC at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association are welcomed, www.heart.org
