Mrs. Osa B. Newberry, age 93, a resident of Auburndale, Florida, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Oak Haven Rehabilitation & Nursing Center surrounded by family. Mrs. Newberry was born August 16, 1931, in Floydtown, Georgia to Lenton and Mildred Laurine (Dean) West. She was an Auburndale resident for over 70 years coming from Georgia. Osa was a retired Manager for Havendale Drive-In Theater and the Dale Drive-In Theater. She attended Life & Praise Church of Auburndale, enjoyed cooking southern style and loved to spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband – Ronald Erickson who served in World War II; 2nd husband – Thomas Newberry who served in the Korean Conflict; 5 brothers – Lamar West, Will “Smiley” West, Benton “Buddy” West, John Wayne Bush and Gregory Paul West; 3 sisters – Emma West Chestnut, Rutha Mae West Palmer and Dorothy Bush Bedsole; 4 brother in laws – JC Chestnut, Johnny Palmer, Wendell Easley and Herald Bedsole; 2 sister in laws – Shirley West and Kathy West. Osa is survived by her loving family, 4 sons – Richard “Rick” (Bertha) Erickson of Wimauma, FL., Stanley “Stan” (Pat) Erickson of Haines City, FL., Tommy (Tommi Jo) Newberry of Eustis, FL. and Timmy (Beth) Newberry of Lakeland, FL.; 1 brother – Dennis Ray West; 2 sisters – Johnny Sue West Easley and Zelda Louise West; 3 sister in laws – Marie West, Scarlet West and Lynda Bush Moore; 9 grandchildren – Will, Sally, Karie, Ben, Nolan, Nicci, Brett, Jenna and Nathan; 13 great grandchildren – Waylon, Walker, Rowan, Makenna, Nolan Jr., Farrah, Asher, Kira, Jonathan, Ayden, Carlee, Brayden and Addy. Funeral services will be held 11am Thursday, February 13th at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
