Jackie Eldridge Overbey Sr., age 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 8, 2025, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his family at his home.  Jackie was born on March 21, 1944, in Hawkins County, TN and resided in Mount Carmel for fifty plus years.  On March 29, 1965, Jackie married his most cherished friend, Kathy Kendrick, and after 59 years of a beautiful life together, she survives.  Jackie retired from TN Eastman after 32 years of dedicated service and he attended First Free Will Baptist Church of Morrison City. 

Jackie loved his family, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Jackie was known as a man who could fix anything.  From cars to tractors, and everything in between, he could fix it.  Jackie was a kind man, and he was always willing to help those in need.    

Jackie was preceded in death by his mother, Madge Overbey; and brother, Billy Overbey.  Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Kathy Overbey; loving sons, Robert Overbey and his wife, Tammy, William Overbey and his wife, Terry, and Jackie Overbey Jr. and his wife, Wendi; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many other loving family members.   

The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to Smoky Mountain Hospice for their wonderful service and care, and to his brother and sister-in-law, Bradley and Rita Farmer for all their help.   

There will be no formal services, and the family requests that memorial donations be made to the charity of one’s choice.
