A Life Tribute Funeral Care - Largo
Janet Kathleen Warden
April 2nd, 1953 - January 31st, 2025
Janet Kathleen (Pancio) Warden of Treasure Island, FL passed away peacefully cuddling her beloved dogs, Chumbo and Lucy on January 31, 2025. Known for her bubbly disposition that was so full of life, family and friends are deeply saddened to be saying goodbye so unexpectedly.
Born in Olean, NY on April 2, 1953 to Teresa Grandusky and Andy Pancio, Janet was raised in a loving and spirited family with 4 brothers who survive: Gary (Julia) Pancio, Jim (Jill) Pancio, Russ (Linda) Pancio and Jerry (Mary Lacity) Pancio. She grew up on Homer Hill, anchored by Uncle Pete’s store, where family and friends were one and the same. In 1971, she married her high school sweetheart, George Stephan and took great pride in raising their 3 children: Tom Stephan, Amy (Chad) Grout and Cris Stephan. As her kids started off to college, so did Jan. She earned a master’s degree in education, launching into a career where she passionately loved, nurtured and engaged children for over 20 years. On her 40th birthday, Janet married Doug Warden and, in retirement, the two became Florida snowbirds. Ultimately, Jan moved south full time and bought a beach side cottage that was her dream come true.
Janet is predeceased by her parents and son-in-law. Surviving are her husband, children, siblings, grandchildren: Matt (Nadya) Grout, Faye Grout and Maura Grout, a very special aunt, Kay Pancio, cousins, nieces and nephews. Gone but not forgotten, the best parts of her will be with us always.
