John "Jack" Sundholm
May 8th, 1941 - February 8th, 2025
Sundholm, John “Jack”, 83, of St. Petersburg passed away February 8 at AccentCare Hospice in Largo, FL. Born in Chicago and raised in Hammond, Indiana, he graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Business . He is preceded in death by his son, Dale Eric and his parents, Helmer and Martha Sundholm. Jack is survived by his wife, Barbara, his sister Cathy Allen, his brother Gary (Dorie), sister Becky (Steve) Ayers, beloved nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews, and his cherished dogs, Casey and Abby. Jack was a loving, outgoing individual who was always smiling and upbeat. He loved dressing up in costumes for Halloween because he was such a fun loving individual. While in college he participated in the Little 500 bicycle race made famous by the movie “Breaking Away”. His passion was sailing, a hobby he enjoyed sharing with friends and family, especially his wife. He was a member of First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg. He had a long career in retail management with the JC Penney Company, and his employment took him to several locations throughout the southeast and Puerto Rico. He was very much loved by the people he worked with. He retired from the Penney Company in 1997, and was recently recognized for his 50 years of association with the company. Jack’s memorial service will be Thursday, February 20, 2025, 1:00 pm at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home preceded by visitation from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Following the service, there will be a graveside memorial at Royal Palms Cemetery, 101 55th St. S, St. Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dale Eric Sundholm Memorial Scholarship Fund which was established to support the attendance of a Statesboro High School student, Dale’s school, wishing to attend Georgia Southern University.
