Thomason Funeral Home
Sarah Jean Ledford
August 5th, 1939 - February 5th, 2025
Sarah Jean Mohr was born on August 5th, 1939 in Portland, Oregon, to Solomon Delbert Mohr and Merie Frances (Sorenson) Mohr. Jean loved school and made excellent grades, at one point she even considered becoming a doctor. On April 1st, 1956, Jean married Donald Elvin Loos, the twin brother of her childhood best friend Dorothy. Together they made their home in Oregon and welcomed 3 sons (Donald Jr., David, and Dan) and a daughter (Pattie) over the next several years. In 1970, after 14 years of marriage, Donald and Jean parted ways.
Following the separation, Jean’s brother Cyrus convinced her to join him on a road trip with his CB radio club, insisting that he needed her company. When they met up with the group, Jean found herself expertly maneuvered into his friend James Ledford’s truck. As Cyrus suspected, Jean and Jim were made for each other and hit it off immediately. Jean married James Ledford not long after on November 21st, 1970.
Together, Jean and Jim relocated to Idaho in 1976. Jean put her designer’s eye to work at the Blossom Shop in Weiser, creating beautiful flower arrangements for over 12 years. Jean enjoyed vacations to Branson Missouri, picking out the perfect Christmas presents for her family, and redecorating her home to rival any Better Homes & Gardens magazine. Above all, Jean loved spending time with her family. Her door was always open with refreshments at the ready, encouraging words, entertaining stories, and a compassionate listening ear. Her smile was always the brightest when talking to her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Jean was a strong Christian who placed great importance in her faith, she said the happiest day of her life was the day she was baptized. On February 5th, 2025, Jean peacefully entered into her rest, home to her heavenly Father’s arms.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, brother Cyrus, and grandson Grady. Jean is survived by her loving husband Jim, her children Don, David, Pattie, and Dan. Jean is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Stacy, Stephanie, Cathy, Sarah, Ryan, Curtis, Carl, and Calvin, as well as 18 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

We Entrusted Sarah Ledford's Care To
Thomason Funeral Home
For more than 100 years, the Thomason Funeral Home has worked to help the Weiser community heal after loss. We help families plan funerals, cremation services, and celebration of life services. Our story began in 1910 when Lloyd Northam opened the doors at the site now occupied by the current Weiser Elk’s Lodge. Since then, the business has had several names, partnerships, and owners. Among them was Dale Thomason, our namesake, who began working at the funeral home in the mid-1940s and purchased the home as a family business to run with his son. At Thomason, we focus on helping your family with personalized care. We do everything we can to provide professional, compassionate support to every family that trusts us with their funeral arrangements. Along with our sister location in Ontario, Oregon, we help Treasure Valley families connect, honor, and remember their loved ones....
