With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Denise O. (Grondin) Cote, who peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on February 10th, 2025, at Mercy Medical Center. Born on June 5th, 1941, in Drummondville, Quebec, Canada. She spent her teenage years living in Holyoke then moved to the Indian Orchard section of Springfield, she moved to Chicopee where she raised her family and moved again to Granby before settling down in Belchertown.

Denise was the beloved daughter of Armand and Cecile (Fugere) Grondin, who preceded her in death, along with her sister Claudette Fontaine and her devoted husband, Nil Cote. Denise is survived by her children: Christianne Pare and husband Robert of Belchertown; Rene Cote and wife Lynne of Granby; Mario Cote and wife Ellen of Belchertown; and Nancy Shaw and husband Alan of Granby. Her living legacy extends to her sisters, Lise Mongeon, Colette Turgeon, and Carole Roy, all residents of Belchertown. Denise's nurturing spirit lives on through her 11 grandchildren—Vanessa, Kyle, Olivia, Melissa, Shaun, Sarah, Marc, Theresa, Jake, Hope, and Ryan—and her 16 great-grandchildren, each a precious gem in her life.

Denise lived a life enriched by love, faith, and family. A devoted homemaker, Denise's true calling was caring deeply for her family, a dedication evident in every gathering. She was happiest in the company of her family and her beloved dogs.   Her faith was a bedrock of her life as a communicant of St. Francis Church, formerly of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Granby. Denise was a member of the Daughters of the Nile and her past involvement with the Red Hats Society.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home during calling hours on Wednesday, February 19th, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM at St. Francis Church. Following the Mass, the burial will take place at West Cemetery in Granby.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Denise's honor to either St. Jude's Hospital for Children or Shriners Hospital.

May Denise O. Cote rest in eternal peace, forever remembered by those who loved her dearly.
