Audrey Judy Bowen, age 82 of Duffield, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 11, 2025. Audrey was born on August 15, 1942, in Scott County, VA to Elisha and Lakie Pruitt. In November of 1959, Audrey married her most cherished friend, Henry Bowen, and after 65 years of a beautiful life together, he survives.
Audrey loved singing and spending time with her family and church family. She attended Durhams Chapel Freewill Baptist Church for 50 plus years. She was an active member within the church, and she sang in the choir for many years.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Pricillia Frazier, Sallie Palmer, and Jackie Davis. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Vickie Bowen; son, Scott Bowen and wife, Judith; granddaughter, Jaclyn Brady and husband, Matt; great grandson, Kit Brady; two sisters, Carol Blevins, and Paula Butler and husband, Ronnie; one brother, Stan Pruitt and wife, Diane; and many loving nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Durham’s Chapel FWB Church, located at 5297 Mabe Stanleytown Rd, Duffield, VA 24244.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Scott County Funeral Home in Weber City. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Terry Rhoton officiating. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Holston View Cemetery at 10:00 am. Allen Butler, Dwight Palmer, Donnie Pruitt, Dustin Osborne, Jared Bowen, and Wes Frazier will be serving as pallbearers. Gary Bowen, Jerry Bowen, Lonnie Frazier and Chuck Avery will be serving as honorary pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:50 am.
