David Lee Ramey
January 2nd, 1946 - February 4th, 2025
David Lee Ramey, age 79, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on February 4, 2025. He was born on January 2, 1946, in Wheeling, West Virginia, to Ulysses Grant Ramey and Lila (Eberhard) Ramey, both of whom predeceased him.
David proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1968, earning the rank of Electronics Technician Petty Officer 2nd Class (ETN2). His dedication to service continued throughout his life, including his role as the retired volunteer treasurer for the Vietnam Veterans of America Colorado Chapter (12 years) which represented the four local chapters in the state of Colorado, first treasurer of Disabled American Veterans (DAV)Chapter 50, as well as his volunteer work with the American Legion Post #209.
David was a man of faith, baptized in the Disciples of Christ Christian Church in Hopewell, Virginia. He was known for his generosity, integrity, and devotion to both family and community.
David is survived by his three sons: Jeffery Ramey, Aaron Ramey, and Andrew Ramey, as well as his three sisters: Cheryl Ramey, Terri Ramey, and Karen Smurdu. His legacy will be cherished by all who knew him.
A memorial service with military honors will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Rd., Colorado Springs, CO 80925.
