In Loving Memory
Bridgett Trexler Dowdle
March 7, 1969 – February 8, 2025
Bridgett was born in Columbia, South Carolina in 1969 to Lee and Katherine Trexler. She grew up playing softball and playing the clarinet. She graduated Brookland Cayce High School in 1987 before going on to work at Bank of America for over 30 years until she passed. She married the love of her life, William Dowdle, on September 24, 2004, and they remained happily married until her passing. Bridgett was a devoted wife and a loving sister, aunt, great aunt, daughter, niece, stepmother, cousin, and great friend to all. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, family and dogs more than anything. She loved having her great nieces over every other weekend or as often as she could. She valued her friends and every relationship she made in her life. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for any and every one. Many would describe her as loving, caring, kind, sweet, thoughtful, vivacious, and welcoming. There isn’t a person involved in this family’s life who does not know or know of Bridgett, also known as Aunt Doot. She was truly one of a kind.
Bridgett is preceded in death by her grandfather, William Hutto; and father, Lee Trexler. She is survived by her husband, William Dowdle; her mother, Kathy Trexler; sister, Candace Keisler (Nate); nieces, Lydia Trexler and Eden Riser; stepdaughters, Shea Mallory (Dylan) and Julia Dowdle; great nieces, Olivia and Sophia; granddaughter, Sammi (Shea & Dylan); aunt and uncle, Cindy and Buddy Hallman; aunt and uncle, Shirley and Gene Olive; aunt, Debbie Cook; grandmother, Ann Hutto Coward; and cousins, Alicia Allen (Luke) and Russ Olive (Scarlett); along with her (4) dogs who she loved with all her heart: Chookie, Lucy, Ellie, and Leroy.
Her Celebration of Life will be held at Green Hill Baptist Church on Sunday, February 16, 2025. Visitation starts at 2pm and her service begins at 3pm.
