Grace "GG" Gardner Benson

In Loving Memory
Grace "GG" Gardner Benson, 85, wife of the late Paul (Peep) Philip Benson, passed away on February 11, 2025. Born in Maysville, Kentucky on December 7, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Cora Hawley.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Paula (Haskell) Price of Nicholasville KY; Robbie Ann Theobald of Lexington, KY and Christy (Darrin) Washington of Lexington, KY; sister, Audrey B Wilson; brother, Douglas "General" Hawley; seven grandchildren, Ashley (Bill) Correll, Heather Theobald (Daniel), Kari (Jake) Goodwin, Kayla (Austin) Greanias, Trey Benson (Kiara), Darius Washington and Dane Washington; eight great-grandchildren Austin (Buddy) Perry, Cameron Theobald, Harper Fannin, Declan Theobald, Trey Benson Jr, Presley Goodwin, Olivia Greanias and Aubrey Correll, and another grandson on the way.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Jewell Jefferson; brothers, Harry Davis Hawley, Jr., Duke Hawley, Pierce (Buddy) Hawley; and a grandson, Michael Stacy.
She was a brazer at YH America where she retired.
She was a very loving and caring wife, sister, mother, Mamaw and Great Mamaw. She loved her family and friends deeply and unconditionally.
Her passion was playing softball in Maysville, KY at Hawley Field, bowling at Southland Lanes and watching UK basketball. She was happiest when she was spending time with her family. Her kind heart and loving smile will be deeply missed and she will be remembered forever in our hearts.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 2–4 pm at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing, with a funeral service starting at 4 pm.
