Michael David Reed, 78, husband of Ella Rakes Reed, passed away on February 13, 2025, in Lexington. Michael was born in Lexington, Kentucky on September 30, 1946 to the late Leon John and Paula Lakes Reed. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a long-time employee of the VA Medical Center in Lexington.

 

He is survived by his wife of many years, Ella Reed, daughter, Shawna Davis, son, William Reed, grandchildren, Rebecca Townsend, Johnathan Davis, Shawn Michael Reed and Madison Nichole Reed, and his great-grandchildren, Seth Davis, Hunter Davis, Connor Townsend, Aiden Townsend, Addy Townsend, Jackson Townsend, Lincoln Townsend, Macy Townsend and Elijah Townsend.

 

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael John "Chip" Reed.

 

Visitation will be held on Monday February 24, 2025 from 12 noon until 2pm at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. Private burial at Camp Nelson will be on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
