Sylvia B. Salling
August 26th, 1936 - February 15th, 2025
"A preacher's wife is a woman of unwavering faith, a pillar of strength in the community, and a silent servant, whose love shines through in every act of kindness, reflecting the grace of God."
Sylvia B. Salling, 88, of Ft. Blackmore ascended into Heaven on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
She was born August 26, 1936, to the late Howard and Vernie Pierson Anderson. She married the love of her life on December 21, 1956, Lawnial “Red” Salling. Sylvia attended church faithfully under the gospel of her husband while her health permitted. Sylvia found joy being a pastor's wife and was an integral part of the church community, always ready to lend a hand, offer a listening ear, and provided comfort in times of need. Sylvia worked in the banking industry and retired from Nations Bank with over 30 years of service. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lawnial “Red” Salling; her foster son, Wayne Paris; siblings, JD Anderson, Olene Carter, June Butler, and Elmo Anderson.
She is survived by a daughter, Cindy; special son-in-law, Ronnie Bledsoe; grandsons, Jacob and Shane Bledsoe; granddaughter, Alisha Bledsoe; sister-in-law, Eula Salling; special nieces and caregivers, Lisa Summey and Freda Burke; along with several other nieces, nephews and friends.
