Dennis (Hans) Walter Hanson, age 80 of Lakewood, CO, passed away on March 13, 2021 at the Collier Hospice Center in Wheat Ridge, from COPD. He was born in Edgerton, WI. He achieved his accounting degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison He joined the Marine Corp in 1961 and was stationed at Camp Pendleton working in the Data Center. It was while he served in the Marines that he received his nickname "Hans". He met his bride, also a Marine, Marilyn Jo Dedmore at Camp Pendleton and was married on June 1, 1962. Hans loved playing organ and had the honor of playing at the different chapels on base and some private parties for the higher in command. Hans enjoyed serving his community. He was a Boy Scout Troop leader, Sunday school teacher and served on several church committees, Optimist club member and President, and he and Marilyn served as the Neighborhood Watch leaders of their block for many years. He was an Entrepreneur utilizing his passion for computer programming. He started a data entry business for insurance companies. He was a leader in online computer dating. His nickname was "Dr. Love." He also was the IT guy for many of his friend's businesses. He was a wonderful storyteller and loved to laugh while telling his stories. He was proud of his Norwegian Heritage, "Uff Da"! Dennis (Hans) is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn Jo Hanson. His son's Paul and Todd, his daughter Nicole and their spouses. He has many grandkids, step grandkids and great grandkids that were all very special to him and he enjoyed sharing his stories with. Dennis is also survived by his brother Dale (WI), sister Donna (AZ) and cousin Tom (CO). He is also survived by many friends, too many to list, who all loved him. The memorial will not be open to the public due to COVID 19 restrictions, we hope to do a Celebration of Life at a later date at Holy Shepherd Lutheran church. Thanks
