James "Jimmy" Howard Stewart
June 3rd, 1957 - February 9th, 2025
James Howard Stewart, 67 of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away on February 9, 2025.
James Stewart was born on June 3, 1957 to Howard Andrew Stewart and Regina Ann Sinnott. He was raised in New Hyde Park, NY with his mother, grandmother and sister (Margaret McBride) where he attended Corpus Christi grade school and graduated from New Hyde Park Memorial High School. He built a life rooted in hard work, dedication, and love for his family. On March 5, 1983, he married the love of his life, Maryellen Stewart, with whom he shared many cherished years until her passing in 2023.
James was a proud and hardworking man who served as a shop steward at Jenna Concrete, Bronx, NY, until he retired after 31 years of service. He was respected by his colleagues for his leadership and unwavering commitment. After retiring, he and his family relocated to Lexington, South Carolina. Having a deep passion for motorcycles, James became an active member of the Patriot Guard Riders, finding purpose in honoring and supporting veterans. Above all, James was a devoted father to his children, Joseph Stewart (Christine) of Freeport, NY and Alyssa Ruple (Joseph) of Lexington, SC, and a loving grandfather to Joey, Camden, Emily, and Emma. His family was his greatest source of pride and strength, and his loving kindness and humor will forever live on in their hearts.
James will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will ride on, just as he loved to—on the open road, with the wind at his back and a steadfast spirit leading the way.
A service to honor and celebrate James’ life will be held at a later date.
