Kathleen Ann Murphy
September 11th, 1948 - February 11th, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kathleen Ann Murphy, who left us on February 11, 2025, at the age of 76. Kathleen was a loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Born on September 11, 1948, in Bronx, NY to Edward J. and Audrey V. Bradley. Kathleen’s life was marked by her dedication to family and service. She is survived by her loving daughter, Kerri L. Murphy of Goose Creek, SC; her beloved grandson, Connor J. Murphy, his parents Kristina and DJ of Greenville, SC; her loving siblings: Thomas, Maureen, Carleen, Christine, Gerry, Eddie, and Scott along with multiple in laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Kathleen had a distinguished career, working at West Point Military Academy and The United States Secret Service. Her dedication to her work left a lasting impact. Her professionalism, commitment, and service to the country were a testament to her character.
Kathleen’s giving heart extended far beyond her family and career. She was an avid supporter of many charities. Kathleen was also a regular blood and platelet donor, always willing to give of herself to save lives.
Kathleen had a lifelong love for football, with the Dallas Cowboys being her team of choice. Later in life, she developed a deep connection to the college team, Texas A&M, enjoying the camaraderie and excitement that came with being a fan of both teams.
Kathleen had a playful side and brought the party just by bringing herself. She loved to engage in games of chance, always holding out hope for that big win. Whether it was a lottery ticket or a casino trip, she always played with optimism and a sense of fun.
One of her most endearing qualities was her candidness—sometimes she didn’t have a filter, but that was part of her charm. Her honesty and directness made her both memorable and lovable to those around her. She always brought laughter and joy wherever she went, as if she kept it in her back pocket to share at any moment. Her ability to brighten the room with her laughter will be deeply missed.
She shared special bonds with her neighbors including the Okonski's, and Peagler's in Persimmon Hill of Goose Creek. Her involvement with Immaculate Conception Church and Women's Bible Study group at Grace Lutheran Church were both a testament to her faith.
Her family was the center of her world, and she will be remembered for her unwavering love, kindness, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
A service will be held to celebrate her life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children (https://www.shrinerschildrens.org/en/giving)
Kathleen’s spirit will forever be cherished, and she will be missed beyond measure.
