Ronald Edgar Teal

Ronald Edgar Teal entered Heaven, his Eternal Home, on February 10, 2025, at the age of 73.  Beloved husband of Daphne Martin Teal, Ron was known for his unwavering faith in God, deep love for his family, and commitment to serving others.

Ron lived each day with kindness, humility, and integrity, always putting others before himself.  His faith was his guiding light, shaping how he lived his life.  A devoted Christian, Ron was a source of comfort and strength to those around him.

Besides the love of his life Daphne, he is survived by his children Danielle Teal Kelly (Pastor Trey), Brittany Teal Sona (Matthew), and Robert Lovell Teal, and by his grandchildren Bridges Teal, David Kelly, Jonathan Kelly, Oliver Sona, Jacob Kelly, Rivers Sona, Piper Teal, and AnnMartin Sona.  As a grandfather, he embraced the role joyfully, showering his grandchildren with love and guidance.  Ron believed that family was a gift from God, and he worked all his life to provide a loving home filled with warmth and joy.

Ron is also survived by his sisters Anna Teal Strange (Richard) and Bridget Teal Hall (Ronnie), as well as his brothers-in-law Dean Martin (Rosemary) and Darrel Martin (Debbie) and sister-in-law Darlene Martin Love (Randy). Numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews are left to cherish his memory.  He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Bridges Teal and Katherine Young Teal and by his precious grandson Bayler Joel Teal.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at First Baptist Church Bishopville, 229 W. Church Street, Bishopville, SC on Saturday, March 1st at 11 am, to honor his memory. Casual attire is encouraged. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bayler’s Prayer Endowment at 1600 Marion Street, Columbia, SC 29201.

Ron’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to have known him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were touched by his integrity and faith.
