Johnny Ray Moran

Ray was born on September 19, 1954, in Winter Haven, Florida. He dedicated over 50 years to the construction industry as a superintendent, working with multiple companies throughout his career. His commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family and friends.  

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Janet Moran; his three children, James Moran (Robin Moran), Chasity Guinn (Lonnie Guinn), and Ryan Moran; and his cherished grandchildren, Jw Moran (Lindsey), Elizabeth Oliver (Garrett), Taylor Briggs, Diamond Tucker, Terri Turner, and Tammi Turner. He also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren. Ray is also survived by his brothers Joel Moran (Jamie), and Ronnie Moran (Jenny). Ray was preceded in death by his father, Wilburn Moran; his mother, Helen Brown; his brothers, Randy Moran and Gary Moran.  

Known for his caring and loving nature, Ray had a remarkable ability to bring joy to those around him. Whether through his quick wit or playful tricks on loved ones, he was always the funniest person in the room. He found great happiness in fishing trips with his son, brothers, and grandson. Traveling to the mountains with Janet was another of Ray’s favorite pastimes—he had a knack for discovering hidden spots where he could collect arrowheads.  

A funeral service will be held on February 21, 2025, at Kersey's Funeral Home in Auburndale located at 108 Lake Stella Dr., Auburndale, FL 33868. The service will begin at 2:00 PM and conclude at 3:30 PM at Winter Haven Church of God located at 675 Ave E SW, Winter Haven, Fl 33880.

Ray’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
