Dwight Secrist was born on April 24, 1946 to William and Margaret Secrist in Winchester, Virginia and died the evening of Saturday February 8th, 2025, at his home in the presence of his family, from several health complications. He is survived by his 3 children, Cheryl Phillips, Denise Ivey, and Brian Secrist; daughter in law Aline Secrist and son in laws Mark Ivey and Richard Phillips; 4 grandchildren, Laura Ivey, Olivia Ivey, and Kelly Baker and husband Brian, and Logan Secrist; and beloved dog Dillon.

Dwight was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. Dwight enjoyed working on cars in his garage, listening to music, and home improvement projects and gadgets. He was always willing to help out a neighbor in need.

Dwight always enjoyed a good laugh and joke and often talked about the fun times of his childhood spent with sister, Doris, and their numerous cousins. Dwight was 1 of more than 30 grandchildren and was looking forward to becoming a great grandfather this summer.

After high school graduation, Dwight was drafted to serve in Vietnam from December 1965 until December of 1967. Following his military service, he married his wife, Karen, in 1968. Dwight later became a foreman at Craftsman Press Inc. before retiring after 30 years.

In his spare time, Dwight enjoyed spending time at his backyard pool, traveling cross country, and camping with family at Myrtle Beach, SC. After 55 years of marriage, Dwight and his wife moved to Tampa, Florida to spend time with the newest member of their family, grandson, Logan.
