Barbara Ann Johnson

Barbara Ann Hood Johnson of Greeley, CO, passed away at the age of 92 on Thursday, February 13, 2025.

She was born in Galeton, lived in Eaton and Greeley, and graduated from Greeley Central High. Barb met and married her one true love, Paul Johnson of Denver, and they married in 1950. They moved to Sheridan, WY early in their marriage. Leaving Wyoming in 1968, they relocated to Douglas, AZ and returned to Greeley in 1977, where they resided until her recent passing and Paul’s in 1999.

She is survived by her daughters- Cheri of Arizona, Michelle (Shelli) of Maryland, her brother Bill Hood and sister Dora Hood Sickler, both of Colorado. Barbara has five grandchildren: Leah, Mathew, Katie, Jordan and Robert. She has eight great grandchildren.

She retired from JC Penny after working as a bookkeeper for over 20 years. She then became a successful, self-employed Avon representative, which she enjoyed immensely.

Barbara relied heavily on her faith and was a devout Jehovah’s Witness. She was a very caring woman and had a number of longtime friends. She possessed a quick-witted humor that people often failed to recognize, or the humor was lost on them. Her family meant everything to her, a quality she held throughout her life. Barbara was a guiding light for so many and she will be dearly missed.
