Carol S. Wintermute
July 14th, 1950 - February 13th, 2025
Mrs. Carol S. (Catanzaro) Wintermute of Gloversville, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday February 13, 2025, with her family by her side.
Born on July 14, 1950, in Gloversville NY. She was the daughter of the late Philip V. Catanzaro and Marie (Gardiner) Catanzaro. Carol was a graduate of Gloversville High School’s class of 1968.
Carol worked at OTB in Gloversville until her retirement. In her spare time Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, going to Saratoga in the summers, garage sailing, making sure to watch every Hallmark Christmas movie ever made and made a point to bring her boys to the Great Escape no matter how old they were.
On August 28, 1998, Carol married the love of her life, Michael Wintermute, who survives. Other survivors include her two sons, Richard Alkinburgh (Nicole Piper) of Gloversville and Robert (Katie) Alkinburgh of South Carolina, and two grandchildren, Madison and Taylor Alkinburgh; as well as nieces, cousins and extended family.
Carol was also a devoted member of the Church of the Holy Spirit.
In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by her brother Charles Catanzaro.
· In keeping with Carol’s wishes, there will be no service at this time. A celebration of life for Carol will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Carol’s name can be made to the James A. Brennan Human Society, 437 9 Mile Tree Road, Gloversville, NY 12078.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY.
