Eileen Florence Newman

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Newman, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at home surrounded by family. She was born in New Haven, Connecticut, on November 2, 1953 to William and Irene Surface. Eileen moved from Connecticut to California, Nevada, and Texas before settling in Idaho in the mid 70s. Eileen is preceded in death by her parents, Irene and William, her husband, John, and her granddaughter, Autumn. Eileen is survived by her brothers, Danny and Wayne, her sisters, Trisha and Beverly, her children, Ila and James, her grandchildren, Chase, Lucas, Cody, and Carson, her great-granddaughter, Raelynne, and a multitude of friends and family members. Eileen worked several years for Albertsons and Winco grocery stores before retiring in 2019. Eileen treasured time with her family and friends. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee, card games, water skiing (when younger and more agile), and spending every moment she could with her family and friends. Eileen was the life of any function. Her joyous laugh and competitive nature paired well with the large Newman family she was a part of for the last 30 years. She was a woman of strength, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was known for her warm heart, sharp wit, and the genuine care she extended to everyone she met. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family, touching the lives of those in her community and leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege to know her. Eileen’s love and light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew her, and her memory will forever be a source of strength and inspiration. There will be a Celebration of Life Ceremony in June of 2025.
