"You'll see her in the clouds above, hear her whisper words of love. You'll be together before long, until then, listen for her song." -Christy Ann Martine
In loving memory of Betty Jane Richardson (née Turner) who passed away on Monday, February 17th, 2025, in Winter Haven, FL, at age 68.
Betty Jane was born on July 14th, 1956, in Miami, FL, to the late William and Syble Turner. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Terry Turner, Glynn Turner, Tammy Chapman; and her daughter, Angela Michelle Richardson.
She is survived by her son, James Richardson Jr., and daughter, Misty Richardson; their spouses, Elisabeth Richardson and Enrique Diaz; and her four grandchildren, James Richardson III, Megan Richardson, Madisyn Mobley, and Alyssa Diaz; her brother, Lynn; nieces and nephews, Carrie, Terry, Crystal, Travis; great-nieces and nephews, Anthony, Ashley, Kaylee, Tristan, Emily, Trenton, Trevor, and Maycee; and her long-time companion, John Gems.
Betty’s life was marked by loyal love, effortless humor, and persistent generosity, as a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She was happiest when surrounded by family and cherished the simple pleasures of life: good music, time on the beach, and conversations with loved ones. She had an undeniable softness and extraordinary kindness that touched the lives of those around her. Although her absence leaves a profound void, her warmth and the memory of her presence and humor endures in the hearts and minds of all those who had the privilege of dearly loving and being so dearly loved by her.
Her memorial service will be held at Kersey Funeral Home, located at 108 Lake Stella Dr., Auburndale, FL 33823, on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 2 pm.
