In Loving Memory
On February 10, 2025, Lee Thomas Johnson, 44, of Lexington, SC went to be with the Lord after an unexpected passing. Born in Columbia, SC he lived in Lexington, SC. Before graduating from Ben Lippen High School, Lee toured Europe and discovered a love for travel. This love led him to begin working in the hospitality industry during the past few years. Lee held positions at resorts in Alaska, Maine, New York, and Wyoming. A favorite pastime was taking pictures of wildlife and the breath-taking landscapes during his travels. Lee’s passion was hiking and camping in the North Carolina mountains. Time alone in God’s magnificent outdoors was when Lee enjoyed life the most.
Lee was pre-deceased by grandparents, Dot and Vance Johnson of St. Matthews, SC and Bob and Helen Walls of Spartanburg, SC; in addition to his uncles, Ronnie Johnson of Camden, SC and Reggie Johnson of Dunedin, FL. Lee is survived by his parents, Rick and Teresa Johnson of Lexington, SC; his brother, Kent Johnson of West Columbia; his aunt and uncle, Jan and Tom Shropshier of Duncan, SC. In addition, Lee is also survived by cousins, Justin Shropshier of Moore, SC, and Logan (Jennifer) Shropshier of Travelers Rest, SC, DeeDee Curd of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Regina Johnson of Hague, Virginia.
The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC on Sunday, February 23 from 1:00 to 2:00. The service will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC following the chapel service.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Lee will be remembered for his gentle nature, giving heart, and kind spirit. May these attributes bring comfort and peace to all who mourn his passing.
