Patricia Raney Evans

Pat Evans passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on Feb. 8, 2025, at Brookdale Skyline in Colorado Springs, Colorado where she had lived since 2016. She was born Aug. 24, 1932, at Staten Island Hospital, NYC to Charlotte Brier Raney and Roy Livingston Raney. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her older sisters Ann Gussow and Jean Harrison. Her father served in the Coast Guard, so they moved several times while she grew up. She married William Ashby Evans, Jr. on June 7, 1952, in Alexandria, VA, and subsequently enjoyed her life as an Air Force spouse moving to Morocco, Spain, and Turkey as well as many States. She was very proud to earn her bachelor’s degree from Duke University before her eldest child went off to college. Pat was known for her apple pie and chocolate cake, as well as great parties that ended after breakfast was served. She loved art, music, museums, knitting, shopping and going to the beach. In her later years she solved two crossword puzzles daily. Pat is survived by her children, William A. Evans, III (Sharron), Mary K. Watson (Michael), and Geoffrey S. Evans (Irina), as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She fiercely loved her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
