Harold Fels
December 16th, 1928 - February 14th, 2025
Harold Fels, 96, passed away on February 14, 2025, in Glendale, Arizona. Born on December 16, 1928, in Clarkston, Washington, he grew up in Alberta Canada and moved to the states in 1951. Once discharged from the army, he lived in Seattle, Washington where he met and married his wife, Lavina Schott in 1956 and they had 4 children together. The family moved various times throughout the years including South Dakota, Wyoming, and finally settling in Billings Montana where Harold lived from 1973 to 2021. Harold, also known as Les by his Canadian family, lived a long and fulfilling life marked by kindness, generosity, and an unwavering sense of humor.Harold proudly served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. During his service, he was stationed in Germany earning the Occupational Medal, the National Defense Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. His time in the military instilled in him a strong sense of discipline and camaraderie that remained with him throughout his life.A man of many interests, Harold found joy in playing pool, fixing cars, fishing, hunting and taking road trips to visit family in the US and Canada. He had a natural talent for mechanics and enjoyed working with his hands. Whether it was repairing a vehicle or sharing stories over a game of pool, he had a way of bringing people together.Harold was known for his social nature and his willingness to help others. He had an innate ability to make people feel welcome and valued. His generosity knew no bounds—whether offering a helping hand or sharing a laugh with friends and family, he left an indelible mark on those who knew him.He is survived by his son Harald Gomez (Rachel), daughters Rhonda Coleman (Robert), Cheryl Larsen (Erik), Dorlisa Dvorak, and son Les Fels, along with 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sisters, Evelyn McDougal, Cora Tourangeau, Willie Butler, and brother Francis. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Lavina; his brothers Fred, Cecil, and Lloyd, sister Belle; his grandson Cory; and his parents Ray and Lydia.Harold’s legacy is one of warmth, humor, and selflessness. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. May his kindness continue to inspire all who remember him.
