Ellen S. Glover walked through the gates of heaven on February 18, 2025, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. The community is invited to pay their respects and celebrate Ellen's life on Saturday, February 22, 2025, between 3:00 pm until 4:00 PM at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home will immediately follow the visitation. Ellen will be laid to rest beside her husband at the serene Black Jack Baptist Church Cemetery in Bainbridge, Georgia on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 2:00 PM —a place she held dear. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request that donations be made to Friendship Baptist Church of Warner Robins, 1322 Feagin Mill Rd, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
Born on May 6, 1936, in Blakely, Georgia, Ellen was a steady beacon of warmth and kindness, a woman whose presence was imbued with grace and devotion. Lucy Ellen Glover, affectionately known by Ellen, spent her life guided by love and unwavering faith. She was united in holy matrimony with William Braxton “Buck” Glover for an incredible 65 years—a partnership characterized by mutual respect and shared dedication to their faith. Together, they journeyed through life and faith, with Ellen standing as a steadfast source of support to her husband, a pastor, as they spread God’s word across numerous communities.
Ellen's career in civil service spanned 21 years, where she tirelessly devoted herself to her duties, exemplifying unmatched loyalty and dedication. Her work enlightened many and left an indelible mark on all who crossed her path. Her impeccable service was less about the accolades and more about the legacy of diligence and integrity she left behind.
Beyond her professional life, Ellen's heart revolved around her expansive family. She was survived by her sister, Sylvia Jaynes her daughter, Cecelia (Jimmy) Brazell, Kathleen, son, Braxton (Jean) Glover, Warner Robins, son, Brian Glover (Brandy), Jeffersonville, grandchildren, Aimee (Randy) Catey, Hawkinsville, Stephanie (Jack) Martin, Tulsa Oklahoma, Ashlee (Greg) Welford, Bonaire, Jessica (Lance) Jarrell, Elko, James (Jaime) Brazell, Warner Robins, Kyle Brazell, Kathleen, Kellie Loyd (Chad), Gordon, Kasey (Skylar) Ables, Byron, Brooke Glover, Warner Robins, and Cade Glover, Murfreesboro NC, Joey Loyd, Warner Robins, Chad Loyd, Lizella and 13 great grandchildren, sister Carene (Larry) Wheeler, Irwinville and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Edwin and Lucy Sheffield Swann, her beloved husband, Buck, her daughters, Cindy Smith and Pam Glover, 2 grandsons, Jay Brazell and Christopher Loyd, 1 sister, Martha Clark , son-in-law, Mark Smith.
May we honor her memory by embracing the warmth she so freely gave, upholding the values she lived by, and cherishing every cherished moment of grace she shared.
