Kenneth “Ken” William Browning age 83. Born in Richmond, Virginia on August 13, 1941, and lived most of his childhood in Brooklyn, New York. He transitioned from his home in Wimauma surrounded by loved ones on February 16, 2025, to his eternal home in Heaven.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wimauma and frequent attender of the Wimauma Community Church of God. 

He will be missed by his wife Julie Browning, his two daughters, Deanna Bryan and Elizabeth Browning, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a large multitude of church family and friends. 

Ken and Julie met in November 2000 and were married on June 9, 2001. They spent 24 years of happy marriage cruising, traveling, and enjoying each other’s company. 

Ken retired from the Air Force where he was an airplane mechanic. In the military he spent 21 years, and he would proudly tell you 13 years of that time was overseas in places like Germany, Japan, United Kingdom, Korea, Vietnam and various other places.  

Ken was a member of the Boy Scouts for over 40 years in some foreign countries as well as in the United States. He served as Troop Leader and Troop Commissioner. He was a member of the VFW. He was a member of the American Legion for 26 years.  Over the years in American Legion Ken served as Commander and in various other positions. He served as a First Responder with the Sun City Volunteer Emergency Squad for over 4 years. 

The funeral service is at Sun City Center Funeral Home, on Friday, February 21, 2025.  Interment will be at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota Florida on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 1:30.
