Craig Alan Lazon, 69, “tragically passed away after a sudden medical event” on Friday, February 7th, 2025, at his place of residence in Sun City West, AZ.
Craig was born March 19th, 1955, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He grew up in San Jose, CA and met the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Betty, at age 17. Craig and Betty moved to Albany, OR at the age of 22 where they spent 42 years, raising their family and creating many loving memories for them. Some of Craig’s most favorite times were spent raising his children, family camping trips, lake outings on his boat, crabbing at the coast and a few trips to the casino’s.
Craig worked in his profession for the United States Postal Service for 40 years. He retired in 2015, and he and Betty moved to Sun City West, AZ in 2019. It is here that he spent a great deal of time on the pickle ball courts, golf course, socializing with friends and exploring Arizona. Craig was known for his gentle nature, kind spirit and great level of patience. He was a most amazing husband, father, Papa, son, brother, uncle and friend. His legacy will carry on forever, reminding us how precious and sacred this life truly is. Craig loved the Lord and was a Prayerful Man.
Craig is survived and is deeply missed by his loving wife Betty Lazon (Leach- Mankin) of almost 49 years; and his children, Craig Jr., Kyle (Kelly), and Brooke (Ryan). Forever cherished as “Papa” and remembered by his seven grandchildren, Conagher, Tehya, Ellary, Kaden, Kolton, Buchanan and Macoy. His memory lives on by his siblings and their families; Lee, Dale (Kathy), Mark (Paulette), Claudia (Bob) and Carolyn (Scott) as well as his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander T. and Teresa M. Lazon.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, March 27th, 2025 at Christ Church of the Valley 23601 N.163rd Ave, NORTH Surprise, Arizona 85387, where Craig and Betty attend. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in memory of Craig.
