Randy George Hipwell
April 26th, 1959 - February 12th, 2025
Randy George Hipwell, 65 of Grand View, Idaho passed peacefully surrounded by his family on February 12th, 2025. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Randy was born on April 26th, 1959 in Boise, Idaho to Willa Catherine (Burghardt) and George Ephraim Hipwell. At the young age of eight, Randy started farming beside his father on the family farm in Grand View. Together they grew sugar beets, corn, beans, potatoes, hay, wheat, and sunflowers. Randy passed his love of farming, hard work and dedication to his children and grandchildren. He also was involved in his community by serving the Grand View Mutual Canal Company for 47 years. Randy attended Rimrock Jr, Sr High School in the Bruneau/ Grand View area. As a young boy, Randy had broke his arm, forcing him to learn to play with not only his right but now his left arm too! This gave him an advantage as a member of the Raider basketball team. Randy would have told you himself he was the best player around since he could shoot with both. He was also a proud member of Rimrocks FFA Program until he graduated in 1977. After graduation, during a cruise down main street in Grand View, Randy met the love of his life Nancy. On January 21st, 1978, the two were married in a beautiful ceremony at the LDS church in Grand View, Idaho. Anyone who knew Randy knew he loved to socialize and talk. It never came as a shock to anyone to see him stop in the middle of the street blocking traffic to talk to someone. If there was any type of gathering, it was almost a guarantee that Randy would be there. Randy fought a long hard battle with MS, but he never let his disability stop him. Taking his wheelchair over and through whatever obstacles were in his way. Taking a short trip to anywhere wasn't possible with Randy, he seemed to know everyone and always took the time to talk to each and every person.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude and sincere thank you to Manuel Araujo for his support and helping chauffeur Randy around, Dixie McDaniel and Rohl Hipwell for holding canal meetings at Randy's House so he was able to still serve his community and help with decision making with the board members. Lastly, to his cousin Rohl Hipwell for always stopping by to make sure Randy was wound up for the day to keep Nancy on her toes. Randy is survived by his mother Willa Catherine Hipwell of Grand View, Idaho. His loving wife, Nancy Hipwell also of Grand View. His children Kyle George Hipwell (Aymee) of Grand View, and Kayla Dawn Whitted of Kuna, Idaho. He also leaves his legacy with four grandchildren; Dallyn Marie Hipwell, Rawley Ephraim Hipwell, Owen Paul Whitted, and Randle Scott Whitted. Randy is preceded in death by his father George Ephraim Hipwell and brother Scott William Hipwell.
On Friday February 21st, 2025 a Viewing will be held at Rost Funeral Home in Mountain Home, Idaho at 1:00 pm.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you have a BBQ and share your memories of Randy with your friends and family.

Rost Funeral Home
As the only funeral home in Elmore County, the staff at Rost Funeral Home work hard to be active members of the Mountain Home community and to be there to take care of families in every way possible when the need arises. Our funeral home opened in 2005 when Jerry and Janette Rost purchased the business. We’ve continued to grow along with Mountain Home. Jerry’s career began more than fifty years ago in Boise, and along the way, he acquired an 1897 horse-drawn funeral carriage, which we proudly display in our facility....
