Janice Lee (Chapman) Lewis, age 83 of Golden, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 30th 2022. Janice was born on May 19 1939, to the late Glenn and Elizabeth Chapman. Janice was an only child. She attended Saint Mary†™s Academy and graduated from Lakewood High School in Lakewood, CO. She then went on to attend Loretta Heights College with a music scholarship. Janice married Walter R. Lewis in 1959, they were married for 58 years before his passing in January 2018. They had three children who brought them much happiness and pride. Janice was a concert-level pianist with perfect pitch. Some of her fondest memories were from her childhood, growing up in Southbend, Indiana. Her hobbies also included reading, gardening, and cooking. She also loved to go to the casinos with her husband. Janice was the ultimate Notre Dame football fan. Janice is survived by her children, Walter R. Lewis Jr., Susan L. Hunt (Steve), and Paul W. Lewis (Danielle); six wonderful grandchildren, Andrea, Rachel, Margaret VeDepo (Mitch), and Avarie Hunt, Matthew and Zachary; one great grandson, Mason VeDepo. Janice was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, cousin, and friend to all she knew. She had a giving nature which made her family feel very loved.
