Albert "Bert" Dashiell

Albert "Bert" Dashiell, Charlotte, NC, departed this life peacefully on February 12, 2025. At 80 years of age, he was a man of great kindness, strength and wisdom, whose guidance and support shaped the lives of those who knew him.

Born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Bert was a proud graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park. An early start as Dean of Continuing Education at Biscayne College in Miami, Florida, Bert also oversaw the training facilities of the Baltimore Orioles and the Miami Dolphins during their record-breaking undefeated seasons. In 1981, he was asked to move to Charlotte, North Carolina to open a new campus of Pfeiffer University. In later years, Bert became a published author and opened Somerset Financial, a wealth management company. 

Bert never met a stranger and as a proud owner of a 1950 Studebaker, he enjoyed swapping stories of antique cars with anyone who would listen. Bert dedicated his life to his family, always placing their needs above his own. He was a source of unwavering love and encouragement, offering a steady hand to life's challenges and celebrating every joy alongside us. His laughter, advice and warm presence will be deeply missed.

His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his wife, Patty (Corcoran), and son Justin (Rebecca Primm), grandson Olian, daughter Cathryn (John Walrath), 2 grand pups Mick and Ellie, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. 

Bert will be laid to rest in his hometown of Princess Anne, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Bert's honor to Antioch Church Princess Anne Brick Memorial Pathway PO Box 297, Princess Anne, MD 21853, www.antiochprincessanne.com.
