Jacqueline Simone Gladu
October 9th, 1944 - February 19th, 2025
Jacqueline (Nadeau) Gladu passed away on February 19th, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 9th, 1944. The daughter of Roger Nadeau and Doris (Fleury) Nadeau. She was born and raised in Chicopee, MA. She is predeceased by her parents, as well as her brother Roger Nadeau, and her daughter Jessica Gladu.
Known to many as Jackie, but most importantly she was a loving, caring, and selfless wife, mother, and mémère. Jackie cared for many as a pediatric nurse for over forty years. She started her career working at Providence Hospital as a labor and delivery nurse for over ten years. She continued on as a school nurse in Chicopee for five years, working at Amherst Medical for fifteen years, and finishing her career as a school nurse again at Amherst High School. She was passionate about all of her jobs but her favorite was her time she spent as a labor and delivery nurse at Providence Hospital. She would always tell stories about all of the babies she would hold and care for. When she wasn’t taking care of babies she could always be found with her family, taking care of her own babies. On her weekends off from work, Jackie along with her husband and their seven kids would go out camping all around the area.
Jackie was also an active member of Saint Patrick's Church for the past eight years.
Jackie leaves behind her husband of fifty eight years, Dan; her children Kimberly, and her husband John, Kevin, and his wife Lauren, Andrew, Rebecca, and her husband Shaun, Nathan, and his wife Jessie, and Joel; her grandchildren Brianna, Raina, Kiara, Audrey, and her husband Matt, Xheniya, William, and his fiancé Maddy, Devon, Elizabeth, and Javan; as well as five great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her two sisters Maryann, and her husband Paul, Debbie, and her husband Mike, along with their families. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday February 25th 4pm-7pm at Beers and Story in South Hadley, MA. Family and friends may gather directly at Saint Patrick's Church in South Hadley on Wednesday, February 26th at 10am for the Funeral Mass. A burial will immediately follow the service at the Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to Baystate Health Hospice or a Hospice of your choice.
