James McDonald 

James F. McDonald, 83, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Jim was born on June 26, 1941, in Johnson City, NY and resided in Liverpool, NY for most of his life.

Jim was a gentle, smart, humble, and hardworking man who was completely devoted to his family.  He is remembered as a gentleman and a friend to all who have met him. 

Jim was the most loving husband, dad, and ‘Papa’. His wife Carole was the true love of his life. He kept a special relationship with each of his children and grandchildren as he helped guide them throughout their lives. Whether it was coaching Little League, going to car shows, or at special events, he loved nothing more than being with his family. 

Jim and Carole resided in Liverpool from 1977 until his retirement. He was employed at Bristol Myers, Miller Brewing, and New Venture Gear as a Maintenance Electrician, where he was affectionately known as ‘Mac’. Upon his well-earned retirement in 2004, he and Carole relocated to Southwest Florida.

Jim is predeceased by his parents, Francis J. and Theresa M. McDonald, and sister, JoAnn Yaple.

Surviving to cherish Jim’s memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Carole (Bascom) McDonald, his daughter, Marci (John) Kinslow, his three sons, Chris (Linda) McDonald, Scott (Nicole) McDonald and Craig McDonald, and grandchildren Matthew, Michael, Benjamin, Scott, Alexa, Megan and Kaitlyn; one brother, William (Helen) McDonald; and several nephews and cousins.

A mass will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 11:00 am at Pope John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, 8290 Soule Road, Liverpool, NY 13090.
