“You Strengthened Everyone Who Encountered You.”

"Eric", as he was affectionately known and identified all the way back to childhood, was born John Erick Clark on February 9, 1957 to the union of his father and namesake, Frederick Horace Clark and Maureen (Richmond) Clark. He married his covenant wife in the Gospel, named "Minister" in 2014. During 2014, he chose to change his middle name to Eric to seal that he was a new man, his own man in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and on a path separate from the traditions and religion of his father, mother, and family in Mormonism.

From 2010 until his death on January 2, 2025, Eric passionately dedicated every fiber of his being and body to learning, knowing and pleasing the Gospel Jesus Christ revealed in the Holy Bible as best he could and as best he knew – sometimes beyond the teachings of his former pastor George Casteel in Grangeville, Idaho and his second pastor, Minister Wynne in Olympia, Washington. She later became his covenant wife as Eric and she expected love, life and rewards together. This was, sadly, cut short by divorce in 2019 over areas in which Eric and Minister found differences in some fundamentals of the Gospel that were not solved by counsel sessions with local pastors in the Boise region.

They had received the calling by the Lord in Boise, "Plant in this soil." Eric did believe and stated that God had revealed he and his wife would remarry within five to six years, which Minister was faithful to work toward because she, too, expected and wanted God to reunite them (quickly though) for His glory and their love. However, on January 2, 2025, which was the sixth year that Eric believed in, life cut short when God took him, suddenly.

Minister was devastated by this sudden loss of all hope for a continued life together in church and in life with the man she loved so deeply, but God knows best.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Frederick Horace Clark and Maureen (Richmond) Clark of Springville, Utah; his niece Carolyn Kay Shinners of Springville, Utah; his nephew (and Carolyn Kay's brother) Master Officer Joseph Shinners (Kaylyn) of Springville, Utah.

Eric is survived by his covenant wife, Minister Clark.

He is, also, survived by his children from a former marriage (Lisa Clark) – Miranda, Ryan Clark, Jason Clark, Brad Clark, Stephen Clark, and Harrold Clark.

Additionally, he is survived by sisters and brothers -- Kathleen Shinners of Springville, Utah; Charles and wife Christine of Roseville, California; Ellise Goodman and husband Ron of Springville, Utah; Lorraine Gerber and husband Lanny of Pleasant Grove, Utah; Theresa Schock of Omaha, Nebraska; and sister-in-law Carolyn Wood (husband Blaine) of Springville, Utah.

Eric leaves to mourn him and love him his covenant wife, Minister Clark; his best friend David Baumann and David's wife Ellen; beautiful neighbor families and one of their young sons named Marcus (who received one of Eric's Holy Bibles); and many who admired his life as an international businessman, masterful chessman, solid neighbor, and bountiful financial giver to the cause of the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout our great state of Idaho and beyond.

Eric did not like to take photos of himself. A full biography obituary with photos and videos that Eric would like was made available in the private Gospel Memorial Service held for Idaho family and friends at Summers Funeral Chapel --Meridian, Idaho. Interment Morris Hill Cemetery. "Tribute to Jesus" for Eric's Life and his Gospel Memorial Service was conducted by Truth Seekers of Jesus Christ™/Truth Seekers Church, the works Eric and Minister began in Boise, Idaho.

The Eric Clark Bible Foundation will not proceed at this time due to the weight of administration in organizing legal steps, donation support, and other requirements. Donations were returned to the donors with gratitude and respect. Thank you for the beautiful florals sent and being sent from time to time through Summers Funeral Home - Ustick Chapel in Meridian, Idaho.

Special thanks to all of you who loved Eric and those who are helping to preserve the dignity in death of a man highly worthy to remember. He passed quietly and was found lying, peacefully, in his bed in the Meridian area of Boise Valley on the morning of January 2, 2025 the day after New Year's.

For his love of the Gospel, the amazing business skills God gave him, and the "heart to try" in relationships that could be difficult, we must not allow to recede into obscurity the life and deep, tearful love of Psalm 107 – “Eric” Clark of Boise, Idaho.

John Eric Clark

February 9, 1957 to January 2, 2025

"You will never be forgotten as your presence changed each of us in some way. We don't always see in the moment how strengthened we've become by knowing you or by loving you but we are. We exalt your Lord Jesus for creating you and giving you to us and to Idaho for a season.

Thank you, Eric."
