It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn R. Vonder Haar of Seminole, age 92 on February 23, 2025 with her loving family by her side. She suffered from Alzheimer's Disease for several years.

Marilyn was born on December 6, 1932, to the late Peter and Gertrude Brummer of Hamilton, Ohio. She was the youngest of 5, with 3 brothers and 1 sister. Her father died when she was only 7 and she was raised by her single mother and older siblings. Marilyn spent her childhood and teenage years in Hamilton, Ohio and graduated from Notre Dame Academy High School in June 1951.

She married Richard Vonder Haar on September 29, 1951, in Hamilton, and moved to St. Petersburg, Fl in March of 1953. They had one daughter Linda, and one son, Gary.

Marilyn spent many years in the banking industry beginning with Union Trust Bank of St. Petersburg and later working for Home Federal Savings and Loan where she worked her way to becoming an Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager in Gulfport, Fl. She later worked for Barnett Bank of Fl and retired from Bank of America after a 31-year career.

Marilyn and Richard loved to travel. They visited all 48 lower states, 4 trips to Alaska, and most of the Canadian Providences. They had been on 30 cruises, traveled throughout most of Europe, Turkey and Greece and many countries in Central and South America. Among her favorite places to visit were the wine country in Napa Valley California, the casinos of Las Vegas Nevada, Beaux Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi and Hard Rock Casino in Tampa. She also loved their annual fall foliage trips to Gatlinburg Tennessee and the Great Smoky Mountains.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 73 years, Richard, daughter Linda and her husband Bruce of Palm Harbor, son Gary of Seminole, granddaughter Meghan and her husband Mickey and great-granddaughters Holly and Madilyn all of Palm Harbor. She is also survived by a nephew Russell Brummer of Middleburg, Florida and sister-in-law Dorothy Vonder Haar of Santa Rosa, California and nephews Thomas Vonder Haar of Antioch, California and Jon Vonder Haar of Windsor, California.

Marilyn was beautiful, kind, loving and smart. She helped many people in her lifetime, she loved them, and they loved her. She will be missed.
