In Loving Memory of Samantha Susan Hughston

Samantha Susan Hughston, a devoted mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025, in Woodland, California. Her life was a testament to love, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to others. Samantha's generous spirit and boundless dedication were felt by all who knew her.

A woman of remarkable strength, she poured her heart into everything she did. Whether caring for her beloved pets, nurturing her children, or sharing her wisdom through teaching—especially in her art classes for children or animal education—Samantha left an indelible mark on all she encountered. She approached life with the same passion and dedication that fueled her impressive career as a store manager, where she excelled not only in her role but also as a Summa Cum Laude graduate with five degrees to her name.

Samantha’s love for life extended beyond work. She was a proud competitor, earning recognition in the American Poolplayers Association World Pool Championships year after year. Outside of the competitive arena, she found peace and joy in simpler pleasures—fishing, picking berries, and making homemade jellies that brought warmth and sweetness to those around her.

Her heart will forever be remembered by her brother Philip Hughston, daughter Amanda Nates, son Scott Nates-Njaa, grandson Angelo Nates-Njaa, two great grandchildren Payden and Kayden, and reuniting with her granddaughter Chelcee Nates-Njaa in heaven. Though her physical presence may be gone, her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will continue to inspire and guide all who were fortunate enough to know her.
