Edwards Memorial Funeral Homes - University Place
Carl Livingston Alexander
October 24th, 1951 - February 13th, 2025
Carl passed away very quickly after a diagnosis of lung cancer. His wife and sister Claire were with him at the end. Carl was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as the first born of six children. He relocated with his entire family to Washington in 1969. He served 2 years in the US Air Force Reserves. He attended St Martin’s University and studied engineering. His interest in fishing, reading, and politics were endless, but his real enjoyment was designing and building. He passed his love and knowledge of creating, building, and tools to his daughter. He could fix just about anything. Not only did he completely remodel their home, he spent months renovating the Wonder Bread (Hostess) building in Tacoma’s hilltop to its original glory.
Carl is survived by his wife, Ginene, of 43 years, his daughter Ginell Lawrence, grandsons Brock, Colt, and Dash Lawrence. His siblings Claire Alexander, Isabelle Hague (Robert), Charles Alexander (Adrienne), Roberta Alexander, Clark Alexander (Karen), and his numerous nieces and nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
