Frederick John Mack
August 14th, 1935 - February 20th, 2025
Frederick John Mack passed away at home in Bradenton, FL on February 20, 2025. He was born in Central Islip, NY on August 14, 1935, and served in the United States Air Force, 1955-1975. He was a teacher for Manatee District Schools at Palma Sola Elementary School, 1978-1997. He had a master’s degree in education from USF and was an avid USF Bulls fan.
Fred was married to the love of his life, Marjorie (Marge) Mack, for almost 65 years. He is survived by his wife, his daughters, Carolyn (Bobby) Kappenmacher, Margie (Jeff) Genter and his son, Fred Mack. He was the beloved grandfather of Cara (Keith) Krusch, Niki Kappenmacher, Elisabeth (Albert) Montevecchio, Faith Genter, and Sara Genter, and great-grandfather to Joshua, Jaiden, and Rowan. He leaves behind his sister, Pat Nocera, his sister-in-law, Dorothy (Richard) Gordon, and his brother-in-law Rudy (Barbara) Schneider, along with many nieces and nephews.
Fred considered his proudest achievement to be his family. He was a volunteer for the Anna Maria Turtle Watch and Shore Bird Monitoring; a bingo caller for American Legion Kirby Stewart Post 24, and an active charter member of Faith United Methodist Church, where he also served for many years as treasurer.
Fred had an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. His family finds comfort in the knowledge that he is now in the presence of God Almighty, and we will all see him again. “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25: 23).
