Simone Renate DeLong
September 17th, 1959 - February 16th, 2025
Simone DeLong of Saint Petersburg, Florida, passed peacefully in her home on February 16, 2025. She spent her last day on earth doing what she loved, walking her dog, Jackie.
Simone is survived by her husband, Doug DeLong, her mother and father – Renate and Earhart, her sister, Ilona, and Jackie and all of her friends and relatives.
Born in East Berlin, Germany, Simone moved to West Germany prior to The Wall coming down. Before moving to Saint Petersburg, she was a long-time resident of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
Simone took an interest in everyone she met in her community, and she was known and loved by many. While on her daily dog walks, she always took time to engage with those she met. Her kindness crossed all barriers. Simone’s courage and grace while facing cancer, was, an inspiration to everyone she knew.
Her Spirit and Joy will be missed by all.
Doug asks that in lieu of flowers, hug your love ones, and do something special for them.
