Ullrey Memorial Chapel
Carol Overholser
February 14th, 2025
Carol Overholser, 86, left us peacefully after the 'long-goodbye' from dementia. She passed on February 14, 2025, Valentines Day.
We would like to thank Sonny, at Sutter Hospice for his tender care and attention during her last weeks.
She was born in Upstate New York. She had a challenging childhood and young adult life, but like most women, she carried on.
She created a family and worked hard to care for them. She loved family, friends, camping, water skiing, cooking and baking.
She married her first husband, Steve Stevens, and being an Air Force family, they moved many times across the country, finally landing in California, and retiring in Yuba City, CA.
She never missed any game her kids were playing and there were a lot of them! She even managed some college games.
She was remarried to John Overholser, and lived a life filled with boating, bbq's and fun. They were together for 43 years.
She worked as a Teacher's Aide in Special Education at Beale AFB, had a full career at PacBell and Administrative work for R&H.
She is survived by her husband, John Overholser; son, Jason Overholse; daughter, Christine White; children, Andy Summa, Raven Stevens, and Kevin Stevens (Penny Coey); and grandchildren, Lauren Kress (Ray Kress), AJ, Hailey, Collier, and Chloe Overholser.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Bernice and Mathew; and her brother, Robert.
She will be remembered for her loving spirit and sense of humor. She was kind and always ready to feed or care for you. "Want a Pepsi?" She never missed a chance to mail a card on those special occasions, always underlining those key words about love!
She will be missed, and her bright spirit and blue eyes will live on in her family. Fly free Mom, we love you!
No services are planned at this time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sutter Hospice 400 Plumas Blvd, Suite 115A Yuba City, CA 95991.
