Leave a tribute

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Claudia Ramsey Dineen. She was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Claudia was born September 12, 1936 in the small town of Tekoa, Washington. Claudia passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Claudia grew up in a small town with her parents and 1 brother and 1 sister. She attended Tekoa High School for 2 years then the family moved to Spokane, Washington where she graduated from North Central High School in 1953. Claudia enjoyed sports like softball and played the flute in the band. Claudia met her boyfriend (William Dineen) at North Central High School and after graduation she was married. In November 1954, Claudia (William) started their family, which grew to 6 children (all boys) over the next 7 years.

Claudia traversed the country as William went from job to job and she raised the family. She eventually settled in California where she decided to raise the children and enter the workforce. She got her 1st job at Tamarind Elementary School as a librarian. She worked hard and when she worked late, Mark, her oldest son, stayed with her to do his homework. A few years later the family moved south to Carlsbad, north of San Diego. Claudia applied for and accepted a job at San Dieguito High School as a Registrar. She excelled at her job and everyone loved her. Later in her career, she asked to be the Registrar at the new La Costa Canyon High School, where she would eventually retire.

Upon retirement, Claudia spent time traveling and working with her son, Gregory, in his business. Claudia lived with Gregory in Wrightwood, California for several years before moving to Central Point, Oregon to live with her youngest son, Thomas. Claudia enjoyed her time living in Oregon and the friendships she made at the senior community she eventually moved into. In April 2021, Claudia made a decision to move to Phoenix, Arizona to live near another of her sons, William. She moved into a lovely independent living community, Manor Village. Claudia thrived at Manor Village and especially enjoyed the wonderful friendships that she made there. She was gregarious and outgoing with her friends and very happy in her new home. She loved her wine, cheeseburgers and sweets. On February 14, 2025, Claudia passed peacefully in her sleep with love in her heart.

Claudia loved her family and would make a point to show each one of them just how much. She also made a point to tell all of her friends how much she loved and appreciated her family. Claudia was predeceased by her parents Daniel and Helena (Ramsey), her step father Clarence (Finch), her brother Michael (Ramsey) and her son Gregory (Dineen).

Claudia is survived by her sons, Mark (Roxanne), Jon (Mary), William (Laura), James (Jodi), Thomas (Roy), 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was blessed to have such a loving and caring family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 11-12 a.m.at Valley Presbyterian Church.
