Mildred C. Parenteau
July 19th, 1927 - February 26th, 2025
Mildred Cary Parenteau, born a country girl in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, passed away at her home in Oak Valley at the age of 97.
Legacy
Mildred spent her early years in Virginia before moving with her family to Philadelphia. As a greeter at the Mastbaum Theater, she met a handsome young sailor named Paul. Together they volunteered for their community and raised three loving children.
Mildred worked for Oscar Hirt of Philadelphia for many years before beginning her long tenure with William E Howe CPAs of Delaware County, PA.
Family was everything to Mildred and she shared many parties, picnics, road trips and get together over the years. She travelled to Hurricane Mills to see the home of her all-time favorite, Loretta Lynn. She saw her Eagles play the Saints in New Orleans. Mildred attended numerous Navy reunions with her husband Paul. When her children were small, she scouted many cross-country trips as a family. She was thrilled to see her Eagles take home another Super Bowl victory this year.
Family
Mildred is predeceased by her husband Paul, daughter Susan Leeds (Dan) and many brothers and sisters. She leaves to cherish her memory, sons Paul (Susan), and Doug of Wenonah, NJ. Grandson Christopher Bustard (Michele) of Wenonah. Grandson Keith Bustard (Heather)of Johnson City, TN, great grandchildren Colin, Mandy, and Quincy will remember Mildred fondly and lovingly. Her extended family includes in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She left behind a strong legacy of family and friends that will endure for many generations.
Farewell Tribute
Friends and family are invited to attend Mildred’s visitation at McGuinness Funeral Home, located on 34 Hunter St., Woodbury, NJ 08096 on Tuesday March 11, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00pm. Wednesday morning visitation will be from 9:30 am – 1045 am at Saint Margaret's Roman Catholic Church 3rd & Beech St., Woodbury Heights, NJ 08097. Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Park located at 240 N. Tuckahoe Rd., Williamstown NJ 08094
