Mrs. Jean Downs Alexander, 94, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, in Melbourne, Florida.
Jean was born on August 5, 1930, in Jamestown, New York. She shared a loving marriage with her late husband, Earl James (Jim) Alexander, and together they built a life filled with warmth and love. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she cherished time spent with her family.
Jean had a passion for quilting, bridge, and bowling ---activities that brought her joy and strengthened the bonds she shared with those around her. She was an entrepreneur owner of a handmade candy shop in Winter Park, Florida. She was an active member of Suntree United Methodist Church in Melbourne, Florida.
She is survived by her daughters Connie Tresize and son-in-law John; Juile Parrott and son-in-law Rick; and Laurie Watson and son-in-law Rod; as well as her beloved grandchildren Haley and Bryan Hakemoller of Cumming, Georgia; Rachel and Brad Butcher and their son Luca of Melbourne, Florida; Nick Watson of Tampa, Florida; and Audrey Parrott of Dahlonega, Georgia.
A memorial service will be held on March 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Suntree United Methodist Church located at 7400 North Wickham Road in Melbourne, Florida. A reception will follow the service.
Jean’s kindness and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
