Shirley Margaret Rainey

Shirley Margaret Rainey, born May 14, 1949, in Pennsylvania, passed peacefully at her home in Colorado Springs, CO, on February 23, 2025, at the age of 75. A devoted homemaker and loving parent, Shirley touched the lives of many through her unwavering care and affection.
Shirley was a woman of vibrant interests. She enjoyed playing cards, shopping, bingo, and gambling, always finding joy in life's simple pleasures. Her marriage to Donald Rainey spanned 40 years, a testament to their strong bond and enduring love. Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald, and her granddaughter, Brittany Mead.
She is survived by her children: Sean (Lynn) Rainey, Lori (Steve) Collins, Sherry (Marc) Getty, Mark Rainey, and Rachel (Albert Bush) Rainey; her grandchildren: Sean Rainey Jr., Amy and Ashley LaFlam, Breanna and Jackson Rainey, Bobby and Nathan Rainey; and great-grandchildren: Aidyn Mead, Taygan and Eli Larsen, and Donelo Rainey. Shirley is also survived by her sister, Laura (Randy) Chilldres, and her lifelong best friends, Bob and Maxine Rummel.
A remembrance gathering will be held at 1020 E Fillmore St., Colorado Springs, CO 80907, on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
In lieu of a formal religious service, Shirley's family welcomes all who knew and loved her to celebrate her life and legacy.
She will be greatly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
