Ernest Lynch, 85, of Evans, passed away on October 13, 2017 at Meadowview nursing home in Greeley, Colorado. He was born to Arnim and Mary (Reitz) Lynch on January 18, 1932 in Milliken, Colorado. Ernest joined the Navy from 1950 to 1954 and served in the Korean War. He was on the US Toledo. He met and married Joan Mast on November 13, 1955. They met while Joan was stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire and Ernest came to the rescue. Ernest loved fishing, gardening (especially his roses), digging for rocks and polka. He is survived by his wife, Joan; children, Karen (Richard) White, Michael Lynch, and Gary Lynch; grandchild, Christopher (Morgan) White; sister, Patty (Jim) Jesser. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Elmer Lynch and Clifford Lynch. In Lou of flowers the family would like to have donations made in honor of Ernest to the Alzheimer's foundation of America, American Cancer Association or the Evans VFW. The family would like to thank Meadowview for their excellent care. Celebration of life for Ernest will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 12:00 pm at the VFW in Evans, 3501 State Street.
