Philip John Ierardi
March 22nd, 1959 - February 20th, 2025
“I don't know or really want to know what happens to us in the future. And it will only end in a death, so I choose to appreciate my life with you now, to live, love, and enjoy”. (Unknown Author).
Philip John Ierardi passed away at home on February 20 at the age of 65.
Philip's legacy lives on through the many lives he touched. Whether through his career, his participation in the aftermath of September 11, or his steadfast support of loved ones, he is remembered as a man of strength, humor, and dedication. His time as a Mechanical Engineer and his work with the Merchant Marine, the World Trade Center, Sheraton Hotels, and NYU Law Campus, shaped the professional world. But it was his involvement in the clean-up efforts after the tragic events of September 11 that left a profound mark on all who knew him. Philip's sincerity, humility, and hard work during this time were among the qualities that made him a remarkable man.
In his personal life, Philip was a devoted partner to Margaret Bernal. He deeply appreciated his friends and family. His journey to California in 2013, in search of answers, was a testament to his unyielding spirit. With the support of medical professionals and modern breakthroughs, he found solace and understanding in his later years. Above all, Philip will be remembered for his heartfelt discussions, his laughter, and his genuine connection to those he loved. He will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of life will be held later this year.
