Margaret D. Williams
July 19th, 1940 - December 29th, 2021
Margaret (“Nana”) Williams, passed away on December 29th, 2021. She lived several years with a single lung and contracted a respiratory infection worsened by COVID 19.
Margaret was born on July 19th, 1940 to Luis Amaya and Paula Orozco in Redlands, CA. She is survived by her devoted, husband of 50 years, Francis Clifford Williams. She was a proud mother of 6 children, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Margaret was an active person who loved exercise and taking adventurous risks. She built a strong foundation in the fitness community through her time as a marathon runner. She loved to train and stay fit, achieving goals with her husband, Cliff.
Socializing was a total lifestyle. Margaret often had people over for card games and fun parties as a way to get to know neighbors and army base friends alike.
Collecting things during both domestic and international travel was something Margaret enjoyed. Amazing pieces filled the home with inspiration and love for all cultures.
The biggest joy in Margaret's life was the love for her children and grandchildren. Margaret did everything she could to ensure education was at the forefront of raising her grandkids. She wanted them to achieve and experience things she had never done herself and repeatedly encouraged "Straight A" behavior. She always spoke life into them, offering a self proclamation of being smart and capable at every turn. She would be there in times of need and in times of celebration until the end of her life. She often spoke of family gatherings and a desire for the family to be closer.
In Margaret’s last year she had received salvation and became a member of Living Word Christian Center. Although she was not able to attend church physically, she attended faithfully with her husband Cliff, through livestream from Las Vegas, NV. Her last year was electrifying in the spirit of God! We are all so grateful knowing she is our angel looking out for all of us.
Her pure heart, strength and tenacity for life will be greatly missed. Margaret’s bright smile and loving spirit live on in the family she left behind.
The family would like to thank the medical staff who cared for Margaret and continue to care for people effected by COVID 19.
A memorial service will be held at Living Word Christian Center in La Mirada, CA and Margaret will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery, CA; details will be announced soon.
“We seldom notice how each day is a holy placeWhere the eucharist of the ordinary happens,Transforming our broken fragmentsInto an eternal continuity that keeps us.
Somewhere in us a dignity presidesThat is more gracious than the smallnessThat fuels us with fear and force,A dignity that trusts the form a day takes.
So at the end of this day, we give thanksFor being betrothed to the unknownAnd for the secret workThrough which the mind of the dayAnd the wisdom of the soul become one.”
