“Ellie," known to by her family and friends. Eleanor Lois Kalama passed quietly in her residence of Huntington Beach, CA., on Friday, June 9th, 2023, with her loving "ohana" by her side. Ellie was a good-hearted, spirited fixture in the women's volleyball community. Known for mentoring and coaching women of all ages. She was a talented singer/musician of Hawaiian music and an involved member of Aina'hau O' Kaleponi Hawaiian Civic Club. She loved life to its fullest, and her family "ohana" was her solid foundation. While active with her family, the loss of her husband Thomas in 2021 took a devastating toll on her. Her family grieves her loss, but they take comfort in knowing that Thomas and Ellie are together again. They are survived by their daughter(s) Nalani, Mapuana, and son Kalani. In-law's Jerry, Lynette, and Fred. Grandchildren: Brandi, Beau, Bryant, Maile, George, Maiah, Kekai, Karina, Kamalani, Blakeley & Emily. Great-grandchildren: Owen, Cameron-Kai'mana, and Maverick-Makoa. Hanai-Ohana: Kamei-Nicole, Ryann & Jordan Baker, BB Logan, Bella & Zane. Celebration of Life to be held in Huntington Beach, CA the weekend of August 19, 2023. Location and details to be posted at later date.
